Safety X2 capacitors are a type of safety capacitors. Safety capacitors are used in such occasions, that is, after the capacitor fails, it will not cause electric shock and will not endanger personal safety.
1. The main structure of the X2 safety capacitor.
It is made of metallized polypropylene film non-inductive structure winding, using tinned copper clad steel wire, plastic shell and flame retardant epoxy resin package.
Polypropylene film is used as the dielectric, and the zinc-aluminum metal layer on the surface is vacuum-evaporated as the electrode. It is manufactured by winding and other processes. The exterior is packaged with (PBT) flame-retardant plastic shell and potted with epoxy resin. The appearance design is compact and suitable for high density occasion installation.
 
The X2 series of film capacitors are mainly used for EMI suppression by connecting the L/N of the power input, and used in parallel with the input port. The advantages are as follows:
1. This capacitor is very stable, with little change over time and stability, so the input is not easily affected by environmental factors.
2. Unlike other types of ceramic capacitors, the capacitance of film capacitors is less affected by voltage. An X7R ceramic capacitor has a capacitance change of 40% between 0V and 50% of the applied voltage.
3. Unlike most types of capacitors, film capacitors have a very low dissipation factor. This means that very little heat is generated when AC current flows through the film capacitor. The X7R capacitor converts 10% of the current flowing through it into heat, while the film capacitor is less than 0.1%.
